COSTUMES

Costumes for Purim are mandatory (for both adults & kiddos). If you're in need of some serious 70's inspiration, check out our Purim Pinterest Board.

A note on costumes: cultural appreciation of the times in encouraged, however cultural appropriation is not. Read more about how to choose your costume and avoid cultural appropriation, racism, and stereotypes here.

MITZVOT FOR PURIM

Join us to participate in one of the essential mitzvot of Purim, matanot l’evyonim/gifts to the poor. In addition to your disco outfits and dancing shoes please bring new and unopened hand sanitizer, soap, and masks to our Purim Disco be shared with GLIDE’s Walk in Center. PURIM PREP

Brush up on the story—read the whole Megillah and learn about the female characters are—Esther, Vashti, & Zeresh.

Bake hamentaschen—we love a traditional hamentaschen but we also like to spice things up. Check out these unique filling recipes - red bean and oatmeal - from Molly Yeh here.

Get the party started at home with our favorite Purim cocktails (there will be lots of drinks onsite too)—learn to make a Lemon Speil or Haman’s Brew & start the dance party with a sweet Purim soundtrack
