Why Playground TK?

Because we believe celebrating Shabbat as a family is the best way to learn about Shabbat. How do we do it? By doing Jewish, in context, with friends new and old.

Playground TK will follow the cycle of Shabbat: gathering at various moments of this sacred day to dive deep into the different components of Shabbat, prayer, and Jewish social justice. Each time we gather, we’ll do a mix of play-based learning for kids and parents (together and separate), as well as a mix of singing, movement, art, eating, and schmoozing. In other words, the best of Shabbat (except for the nap!).

As we meet throughout the spring, we’ll:

• Create a community of families through sharing Jewish experiences (more Kitchen friends for you and your kids!)

• Deepen your family’s Shabbat practice and prayer life

• Connect celebrations of Shabbat to actions of justice

• Expand your family’s sense of “home” as a place where Jewish happens

• Help you develop more Jewish parenting tools with other parents

Our sessions will be held at the Friends School and in family homes. Let us know if you have the space and capacity to host!
