Kitchen Staff Update

Avital Raff, our Community Organizer & Peer Connector will be moving on from The Kitchen and joining Hillel at UC Berkeley on June 30th.

Avital joined The Kitchen community two years ago, and in the midst of the pandemic immediately brought kindness, laughter, deep relationship building, and a strong sense of justice to The Kitchen. Avital’s focused leadership supported and expanded the impact of many Kitchen small groups, including Kitchen Kavod, Rainmakers, One City, Glide volunteers and Challah team, Feminist Reading Group, and the Rosh Chodesh Circle. Wherever we encountered Avital - be it greeting at Shabbat services, a 1-1 over coffee, in the kitchens at Glide, facilitating a meeting on Zoom, teaching in Freedom School, or rocking out on the Purim dance floor - her warmth, presence, and steadfast commitment to teaching Torah in order to bring more justice into the world was evident. We wish Avital the best on her next steps and are excited to see her at The Kitchen on Shabbat and holidays.
