Rainmakers Workshop 5: Conscious Consumption

The principle of Bal Taschhit teaches that those doing Jewish should not wastefully consume. What does that mean for our own lives? How can we best furnish a home, raise a child, or start a new hobby while following that guidance?

The Rainmakers are thrilled to have found two teachers from the Kitchen community. Kitchen-ite Lauren West founded a business in the circular economy and Rabbi Jessica Meyer will be grounding our work in the tradition.

Join us Tuesday, June 22nd at 8 pm to reflect on Jewish teachings about consumption and learn how one can consume (and dispose) in ways that help the planet.

*Please prepare by bringing (in your mind) one item that you are trying to buy or dispose.
