Funerals

לְוָיָה Levaya, the Hebrew word for funeral, means ‘to accompany.’ Our role as a Kitchen community is to accompany you and your family during this time. Above all, we want to be with you and to help you.

If your loved one has died, one of our rabbis will help accompany you through the process and arranging the funeral. Send us your phone number here and one of us will get back to you very shortly.

If you are not yet a Kitchen household and wish to have a Kitchen rabbi officiate at the funeral of a loved one, let us know and we will support you through this time.

If the funeral of your loved one is taking place outside the Bay Area, we can help make arrangements when you return home. Our rabbis and Team Hesed will provide counseling, help you plan for shiva / mourning services and / or a memorial service. If you want to talk with one of our rabbis or learn more about mourning rituals, click here and we’ll be in touch soon.
